The Nordic Expense Bot portal has been refreshed with a more app-like feel, faster loading, and a cleaner way to manage your money on mobile or desktop. If you use Telegram or WhatsApp to track expenses, the web portal at /app/* now gives you a fuller visual experience with the same account behind it.
Below is a simple guide to what changed, what’s useful, and where to find everything else in the portal.
What’s New
1) Redesigned Home screen
The Home screen at /app/home now replaces the old plain dashboard. It gives you a quick summary of your month in a single view, with a financial hero banner that can show net saved, net over-budget, spend-only, or an empty state if you have no data yet.
This is useful because you can see your current status at a glance without opening multiple pages. The quick-action tiles also make the most common tasks easier to reach.
- Open /app/home.
- Look at the top banner to see your monthly summary.
- Use the quick-action tiles for Add Expense, Scan Receipt, Quick Add, or AI Assistant.
- Watch the animated counters and icons as the page loads.
- Check the Live badge to confirm your account is active.
2) Push Notifications
You can now receive real push notifications from the portal. These appear in the Notification Center at /app/notification-center and are an additional channel alongside Telegram and WhatsApp.
This is useful if you want alerts on your phone even when you are not inside the chat apps. On iPhone, push notifications require the portal to be installed to the Home Screen first.
- Open /app/notification-center.
- Tap Turn on for this device.
- When the browser asks for notification permission, tap Accept.
- If you are on iPhone, make sure the portal is added to the Home Screen first.
- Use Send test to confirm everything is working.
- After you subscribe, the opt-in card hides itself automatically.
3) WhatsApp: Recent Income now shows current month only
The WhatsApp summary has been corrected so Recent Income only shows income from the current calendar month. If there is no income this month, that line is omitted.
This is useful because it avoids confusion from older income entries showing up in the summary.
- Continue using WhatsApp as usual for your summaries.
- Check the current month’s income only in the summary.
- If the line is missing, that means there was no income recorded this month.
4) Bottom navigation and Alerts
The mobile portal now includes a bottom tab bar for faster switching between Home and other areas. The Alerts bell also shows an unread-count badge, and the badge is now aligned correctly with the bell icon.
This is useful because the main areas are easier to reach with one hand, and alerts are easier to notice.
- On mobile, use the bottom tab bar to move between sections.
- Tap the bell icon to open Alerts.
- Look for the red unread badge when you have new alerts.
5) Visual polish
The portal now has a more polished, app-like look. Buttons press down slightly when tapped, status icons pulse instead of sitting still, and light and dark mode both work with frosted-glass panels throughout.
This is useful because the app feels smoother and easier to use on touch screens.
- Tap buttons normally to see the press animation.
- Switch between light and dark mode based on your device preference.
- Notice the updated glass-style panels and animated status indicators.
6) Performance
Pages now load faster, and moving between portal pages should feel lighter than before.
This is useful because you can get to your data sooner and switch sections with less waiting.
- Open any page in the portal as usual.
- Move between pages to notice the quicker navigation.
- Use the portal more comfortably on mobile connections.

FAQ / Troubleshooting
I don’t see push notification prompts on iPhone.
On iPhone, push notifications require iOS 16.4 or newer and the portal must be added to the Home Screen first. Push does not work in a regular Safari tab on iPhone.
The bell/alerts badge looks off.
That display issue has been fixed. The unread-count badge is now aligned correctly with the bell icon.
Where should I go if something still isn’t working?
First, try the Send test button in Notification Center if you are checking push notifications. If alerts still do not arrive, remember that Telegram and WhatsApp notifications are still available as a fallback channel. You can also check the portal’s Help and WhatsApp Commands pages for guidance on what each bot can do.
If you only remember one thing: the portal is still the same expense tracker, but it now feels faster, easier to tap through, and more useful on mobile.
